Why should I buy a PV system?
There are a number of reasons people decide to buy PV systems from preserving the Earth’s fossil-fuel resources and reducing air pollution to investing in an energy producing improvement to their existing property. Some individuals buy a PV system because they like the security of reducing the amount of electricity they buy from their utility making them less vulnerable to future price increases whereas others just appreciate the independence provided by a PV system.
How much will a system cost?
There are a number of factors that contribute to the cost of a system so no single answer applies in every case. Cost comes down to system size, roof mount, ground mount, new home construction PV system rating, manufacturer, retailer and installer. Your costs depend on system configuration, equipment options and other factors that your local PV provider gives during estimates.
How much will you save with your PV system?
This depends on how much you are paying for electricity now and how much your utility will pay you for the excess power that is generated. You and your utility company will pay the same price for each other’s electricity if your utility company offers net metering and pays the full price for your excess electricity.
Where can I install a PV system?
For maximum output, a PV system should be installed at and angle that matches the sun from rooftops, facades and ground mounted preferably facing south but west or east still generate a very high percentage of possible power. They should be free from shading during peak sun hours (9am to 3pm) by buildings or large trees since this will substantially reduce the amount of electricity your system will produce.
How long do these systems last? What is the warranty of these types of systems?
Photovoltaic systems have been around for 50 plus years and the original installed systems are still operational. Most companies provide a limited warranty of 25 years on the solar modules, 25 years on the inverters and 5 years on the balance of system installation.
All systems configured by Sky Solar Solutions are backed by a 5 year warranty on the installed hardware such as racking, and all electrical connections on top of the built-in warranties of panels and inverters.

Will it still work on a cloudy day?
Since the system energy production is dependent on light intensity and not direct sunlight it will work in cloudy conditions but the greater the intensity of the light the greater the flow of electricity. The system will produce more energy on sunnier days and will produce less on cloudy days. By adding smart modular battery storage to your installation, you can save the energy you produce for when you need it most.
